O’Dea Memorial Award of Merit

Given for exceptional projects where an individual or organization has gone above and beyond to repair, renovate or build a structure that emulates historic styles and details of the Geneseo area.  Projects must represent a major investment, and convey a significant commitment to maintaining or enhancing the historic character of Geneseo.   

The Award

Framed certificate and an invitation to the APOG Membership Reception and Award Ceremony for formal recognition.

Examples

  • Major repairs/renovations/additions to a structure, utilizing historically appropriate materials, that maintain, recreate or enhance historic detail and quality of the original structure.
  • New construction but only that which has paid notable attention to traditional detailing and to matching styles within the Geneseo area.

Letter of Commendation

Given to individuals or organizations that have repaired, renovated or built structures that emulate historic styles and details of the Geneseo area.

The Award

A letter of commendation and an invitation to the APOG Membership Reception and Award Ceremony for formal recognition.

Examples

  • Minor repairs and alterations, utilizing historically appropriate materials, that preserve historic styles and details

  • Painting that matches historic colors and style

  • Landscaping that significantly enhances a structure or property

  • New construction that is sensitive to historic styles and details in the Geneseo area.


McClellan Service Award

Given to an individual or organization who has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to preservation initiatives in Geneseo and to furthering the aims and goals of APOG.

 

 

Note: APOG considers Preservation Grand Awardees from the prior year for Commendation or Award following the completion of projects.
